car is vw gti 1999, T reg 2.0litre engine size

Problem with this car is its rev drops between 12 to 20.

If i start car and give a gas it goes fine till 12. After twelve and before 20 rev always drop between these two points. But it goes fine above 20.


Same if i drive the car and if my gas pedal brings the rev between 12 and 20 then it drops and cuts out like there is no power in it So I have to give more gas to either keep the rev above 20 or below 12 to make it driveable.

anyone knows what problem is and how can i fix it. thanks

At last I found one vw specialist. Left my car there and its fixed.


What he told me I will write down for you. This might be helpful if you have same problem.


Check with code reader for engine surging and stalling. five faults on throttle housing.
Test wiring to throttle found bad connection to throttle housing.
Adapt throttle housing to vehicle


Thats he wrote in repair instructions and he charged for this about 80 pound.
